No B.S., tell it like it is. But don’t lose your humanness, be tolerate and kind.

Especially in the South, we think we have to sugar coat everything. It wastes time and it cheats the person of the entire truth. But you can find a way to tell it like it is in a kind way. Find the balance.

This is more  business advice… I wouldn’t try this if you’re asking someone on a date. Then they’d just wonder where you went.

When you have made the sell, stop selling and leave.

I’ve combined Grandpa’s #3 and #4 because I think they go hand and hand. Again, so simple but we really like the sound of our voice sometimes.

The hubbs and I take a Christmas card picture in front of our Christmas tree every year. We thought it would be a good idea to take the picture in the same spot each year so that we could chart our changes over the years. It started with just the two of us and then two years later we added our dog Roy. It’s been sweet over the past couple of years to see how we have changed but also our dog is no longer a puppy! As the years go on, our family will change but our love for Christmas won’t! It is so fun to gather in front of the Christmas tree and stand in the same places. I dream of having my staircase lined with the many years of Christmas card photos and giggling at bad haircuts or years when I enjoyed too much hot chocolate. We have always used Shutterfly to print our photos. It’s the easiest website I’ve used. I upload the pictures I want and now during the holidays, I can make my Christmas cards right there!

It’s time for Grandpa wisdom times two. My Grandpa will ask you a lot of questions when he meets you. He is always interested in you, what you’re doing, and what your goals are. He listens to all of your answers and just when you think you might get an ear full of unsolicited opinions… nothing. My Grandpa could write a book with his wisdom but he believes:

Don’t offer advice unless asked.

My Grandpa Bennett is a successful and wise man. He always has nuggets of wisdom to share and they’ve clearly proved to be substantial in his own life.

He is a father of 8, businessman, involved in his community and state’s politics, and loves to feed his geese at the farm. Over the next few days I’ll be sharing pieces of wisdom from Grandpa Bert Bennett. They are strong and simple statements, I think we need more of that.

That’s my Grandpa on the right! I’d kinda be keeping a big secret from you if my grandpa was on the left eh?

Grandpa wisdom #1

One of the biggest rules for living a productive and successful life is to do as you say.

If you could see me right now, you’d know why I haven’t posted in awhile. I’m wearing a pink camo onesie… with footies. It’s been that kind of week folks. I’ve been really tired recently but I promise I’ll be back.

I’m going to go eat more peanut butter.

I hope you remember our soldiers today, young and old. I hope today isn’t special because you may get the day off or you’re finally getting that comforter half off.  I hope you can spend today thanking the people who have fought for our country and those who will continue to do so.

Thank you to all the Armed Forces! You’re being prayed for today.

I admit that we’re not lazy often. But today after church…. I haven’t moved from the couch. It’s been amazing. I watched dumb movies and gave my husband the stank eye as he worked his hot bod out. You see I would have joined him but I was really busy seeing if the Kardashians would really keep it up.
