2 things that made my week

I’ve had a very fun, very busy week. Two of my mom’s best friends came into town and I got to spend some time with them. Monday night I went out to dinner with my Mom and my godmother, Martha. I was named after her and she has been a constant encouragement in my life. But she totally surprised me and gave me my first big baby present! HOLLAA!! She gave us our moses basket! It was GORGEOUS and so special and she topped it off with a sweet book I can’t wait to read to Monkey. She is one of the most thoughtful people I know. I will think about her every time I put our sweet one in his basket to sleep.

Godparents are such a big deal to me and whoever ends up being Sam Jr’s godparents, I know they’ll be such a special part of his life just as Martha is to mine. Godparents are an important tradition in my family and I know it’s such an important decision for us because of how much Martha did for me. She was at every major event in my life, she took me out for every birthday, she gave me the pearl earrings I wore on my wedding day, and now she has given me my first big baby present. Gotta love that woman!

Then on Tuesday night I got to hang out with Denise who is another best friend of my Mom’s. We went to dinner, put on a fashion show, and while I went to bed, it made my heart happy to hear Mom and Denise up until 1am laughing and talking the night away. There is nothing like girlfriends. Denise gave me the most precious bag filled with goodies for the baby! The funny thing was, the colors were my nursery colors! You can’t tell me this isn’t the most precious thing in the world!
