Perfect Day

Have you ever had one of those days that you could relive a million times over?

Bud and I had one of those days on Thursday. As I melted into bed and laid my head on my pillow that night I had a huge smile on my face. I’ll remember that day forever. It was simple, but oh so sweet. Aren’t those the greatest? The ones that surprise you with their greatness?

Sometimes the days that I plan down to a tee never turn out the way I’d like. I’m fully expecting slaved-over Halloween costumes to be never worn or more Easter bunnies to be hated or family portraits to be ruined. But the days that catch me off guard with their charm and their brilliance are the ones that I’ll hold closest to my heart.

We started with some crafts with friends (more on that later). Then we survived Bud’s first black eye (I realize this doesn’t make the day sound stellar, I’m not into Fight Club don’t worry), my boy decided to take a nose-dive into the table but handled it like champ. Mama thought she might bawl her eyes out but luckily I was with my friend Jude who has 3 boys and is no stranger to accidents so she was there with ice in a matter of seconds.  Then we had some pool time in the back yard followed by a mama-son date to get frozen yogurt.

Bud's little accident 🙁 Clearly nothing Cheerios can't fix

It's pool time!! I realize its a common mistake to confuse me with the model on the box. Also, can we look at the caption at the bottom? "One pool, three mushrooms, three bugs"... hallucinations not included

I mean, come on.... are you dying of adorable overload yet?

Gettin' our fro-yo on

oh hey no big deal, its just that my outfit and sandals match. swagger baby.

Such a simple day but it was so fun to giggle together, steal little kisses on his chubby cheeks, tickle his sweet neck, and splash around in the water.
